North State Kiwi Fest

Get ready for the first ever NORTH STATE KIWI FEST!

Butte County is well known for its agriculture, growing crops like rice, almonds, walnuts and yes, KIWI! The first kiwifruit tree was planted in 1934 at the Chico Tree Improvement Center in Butte County after being shipped over from China. Since then, all of Butte County’s 1,420 bearing acres were planted with root stock traced to the “Mother Kiwi.”

Kick off summer with a celebration of everything that makes Butte County great – music, food, fun, and of course, KIWIS! Check back often as our schedule of guests and events grows every day!
